Accounts Importing from Tally to eDeskOnline

This page will guide you to import data into your eDesk Online account from Tally 7.2 so that you can synchronise both your accounts details.

Step 1: Export data from Tally
To export data from tally to maintain a backup or to transfer it to some other place, follow the steps given below:
- Go to the main Gateway of Tally >> Click on the Display Option >> Select List of Accounts
- Press Alt + E (Keep the Alt key pressed, press E and then release both)
- When a confirmation dialog box appears asking Export? click on Yes
- Press the Esc key
- Select Day Book from the options
- Alt + F2 (Keep the Alt key pressed, press F2 and then release both)
- This will open the Change Period window.
- Enter the date range of data to export >> Press Enter
- Press Alt + E (Keep the Alt key pressed, press E and then release both)
- When a confirmation dialog box appears asking Export? click on No
- When it prompts for Output File Name press Enter
- For the Format option select >> Condensed
- For the Show Narrations also option select >> Yes
- For the Show Billwise Details also option select >> No
- For the Show Costcenter Details also option select >> No
- For the Show Inventory Details also option select >> No
- For the Select Vouchers to show option select >> Accounting Entries only
- When a confirmation dialog box appears asking Export? click on Yes
Step 2: Import Data in eDesk Online
- Login to your eDesk Online account
- Click on the Accounts icon.
- Click on the link Step 1: Select your Profile
- In the field: I will maintain accounts from:, enter the date from when you are importing the data.
- Select an appropriate Accounting Template >> Click on Save
- Click on Import Data
- Click on Import Tally 7.2 Masters XML
- Click on the Browse button and goto the directory on your local computer, where Tally 7.2 is installed >> Select the file called Master.xml
- Click on the Import button
- Click on Import Tally 7.2 Day Book in left hand tree menu
- Click on the Browse button and goto the directory on your local computer, where Tally 7.2 is installed >> Select the file called DayBook.xml
- Click on the Import button.
You have now successfully completed importing data into your eDesk Online account from Tally 7.2
