How to get the Name changed in the Electricity Bill

Q. I have purchased a new office in Prabhadevi GS Ward. I wish to get the Electricity Bill in my Firms name. What is the procedure and the documents that I need to submit?

Ans. You have to follow simple steps and the documentation is not that complicated.

Assuming that the transfer has not taken place and you dont have the maintenance bill in your name.

Step 1

• Get the form from the nearby BSES office.
• Fill in the necessary details.

Documentation

• Copy of the Sale Deed. (Carry original for verification)
• A copy of the latest paid Electricity Bill of the premise. (Carry original for verification)
• A Copy of the authority letter from the owner of the premise. (Carry original for verification)
• Shops and Establishments Certificate Copy. If applied for, attatch the copy of receipt of the payment made for the certification. (Carry original for verification)
• The Registration certificate of the firm. If applied for, attatch the copy of receipt of the payment made for the Registration. (Carry original for verification)

Finally

• Submit the forms with all the above enclosures and within the stipulated time the change would be done.

Assuming that the transfer has taken place.

• Follow step 1.
• In step 2 instead of the sale deed, attatch the copy of the maintenance receipt. (Carry original for verification)
• Rest all steps remain unchanged.
