How to sell your books on amazon
anyone can sell his book on www.amazon.com.
-- Amazon.com Advantage basically helps publishers of all sizes sell books directly at Amazon.com. All Advantage titles receive premium availability in the Amazon.com catalog and are listed as "usually ships in 24 hours."
Steps to Selling
Here's how it works:
- Search for the item you want to sell at Amazon.com. When you've found an exact match, click the "Sell yours here" button on the right-hand side of that page. You can also sell your item from Amazon.com's home page by clicking Sell Your Stuff on the navigation bar. Note: All offers must be matched against the correct ASIN. You may not list against a different edition or product.
- Describe the condition of your item, set your price, and register to collect online payment from your buyer via Amazon Payments. (Have more than one copy of a product? Click here for more information.)
- Set your price. You may list items at any price you feel is fair, regardless of the Amazon.com price or list price, so long as it adheres to our General Pricing Rule.
The moment a buyer purchases your item, Amazon.com collects a variable closing fee, a $0.99 per-transaction fee, plus a percentage of the sales price: Computers = 6 percent Camera & Photo and Electronics items = 8 percent Items in the Everything Else Store = 10 percent All other product lines = 15 percent The rest is credited to your account. Every two weeks they transfer the funds in your account to your checking account.
We'll send you an email with the buyer's address the moment your money is collected. You'll need to ship your item no later than two business days after purchase. If your item doesn't sell within 60 days, we close your listing and you pay nothing. The email notification we send to you will include details for quick relisting. Note: If you have a lot of inventory to sell, you may want to consider becoming a Pro Merchant Subscriber. Pro Merchant listings are not closed after 60 days.
- To list a new, used, collectible, or refurbished item for sale, find the exact match at Amazon.com, then click the "Sell yours here" button. Sell your item now!
- Amazon Marketplace sellers must be registered for Amazon Payments. Payments is the only accepted payment method for this platform.
Selling in Quantity
- All sellers have the option to list in quantity. We ask that sellers practice the following listing guidelines:
- If you have multiple identical copies of the same item, please use the quantity field rather than creating unique multiple listings.
- If you have multiple copies of the same item, in different conditions or editions, you will need to create a single listing for each item.
- If you have abundant stock of a particular product, which might lead to many identical listings on the Offer Listing page*, please limit the number you create. Our Community Rules for Auctions restrict sellers to no more than 5 identical listings in a category, and that number is a good guideline to follow when listing on Marketplace as well.
(* See an example of the Offer Listing page.)
International Sellers
Due to technical limitations, the Amazon.com Web site is currently able to support only those Amazon Marketplace sellers located in the U.S. and its protectorates. Sellers must have both their billing addresses and checking accounts based in the U.S.
Sellers outside the U.S. and its protectorates who want to sell through Amazon Marketplace may wish to sell through our German, Japanese, French, Canadian, or U.K. sites.

Listing your book on Amazon.com is a sure way to gain more attention in the world of writing that produces thousands of new titles everyday.
What are some of the steps involved? What about the rules and regulations?
- The first step is application to the program. The application may be accepted or rejected based on whether you qualify (Look at the list of instructions and rules on Amazon.com).
- You receive an email from Amazon confirming the acceptance of your application.
- Amazon charges a non-refundable annual membership fee of $29.95 for the Program.
- Then you must identify one or more Titles that you would like to include in the Program. You may identify additional Titles at any time during your membership in the Program. Amazon has the right to accept or reject any submitted title on the basis of the requirements for any product.

- Other than the above, Amazon has other rules and regulations in its agreement that is binding on you till you are a seller on Amazon.
- Before you start the process, make sure that you have an EMail account and Internet access plus copies of your title ready to ship immediately.
How do I sell my ebook on Amazon? Is it different from selling a regular hard copy?
You can do this through the Edoc program that is designed for electronic documents that customers download to their computers and read on their screen. Appropriate documents range from $2 how-to guides to $1000 industry research reports. Edocs are unencrypted PDF (Adobe Acrobat) files meaning they can be read using the free Acrobat Reader software. To start the process, send a blank email to edoc-inquiry@amazon.com and you will be sent an email with an inquiry form that will tell Amazon if your document qualifies to be sold under this category. Once you fill out this form and send it to Amazon, you will receive further instructions on how to sell your ebook on Amazon.com
