Subscribers from the website
Visitors to your website may wish to request or receiving your newsletter. They will need to fill in their email-id in a signup box. An automatic email goes out to the visitor requesting permission. This email contains his ip-address, time, browser-type. Once the visitor clicks on the confirmation-link provided in that email, the system recognises him as a subscriber.
The confirmation email automatically sent by the website of an edeskonline client ( when a visitor to the site fills in a sign-up box). ( Here the italic text are customizable by the client).
From: eMail id which is setup in Newsletter Setup To: (the proposed recepient ) Subject: Confirmation eMail for Subscription to eDesk Newsletter. Thank you for subscribing to eDesk Newsletter. Please click on the link below to activate your subscription. You can also copy/paste the link in a new browser window. [[Confirm link]] Thank you, eDesk Online.
From our address book
One may initiate a request for an approvals from one's address book using the link provided (to the right hand side of the email field). An email compose box will open up with a pre-filled request. The message will have a link to be clicked. If your contact does indeed click it in confirmation: then his ip-address, time, and browser is automatically recorded. Requests for opt-in for more than one contact can be sent by putting all of them in a group in the Address Book.
