  • Regarding all the absolute urls like the one below for ERP. They all need to be changed. Why? Reason = These urls will not show up in the web statistics. So we will not know if anyone visits them. But if we use the new format of urls, then we can track visits to individual pages. So http://wiki.edeskonline.com/index.php?title=ERP should be either written as http://wiki.edeskonline.com/ERP OR ERP
  • When putting a hyperlink to an article within ewiki use double box brackets. Eg: [[Blog_tools]] will display as Blog_tools
  • When putting an external hyperlink to an article on the internet, outside of ewiki use single box brackets. eg: [http://www.yahoo.com Yahoo!] will display as Yahoo!

When writing, use the AIDA strategy

  • A-ttention: The first part of your write-up grabs the readers' attention.
  • I-nformation: The second part gives them information.
  • D-esire: The third part makes them desire your product.
  • A-ction: The fourth part spurs them to action making them reach for their credit card and buy your product.

Other General tips

  • Keep your Supervisor Informed about the progress after every 10 min. This will make you confident as this will correct ur mistake if any at the base level so that you can move ahead confidently without any doubts. - Gurudutt
  • The tile and the para in the article should be in a Layman question form.
  • Get a lay person to read your article, and ask questions. Then go back to your article and attempt to answer them. Show the article to another lay person, and repeat the exercise.
  • Provide screenshots: remember that a picture paints a thousand words
  • All the edesk articles should have a See Also section.
  • give each other fresh contacts for business.
